Scotland will face Switzerland in the final of the men’s World Curling Championships on Sunday – live on the BBC – after beating hosts Canada in a tense semi-final.

Bruce Mouat’s rink, who reached the last four after beating defending champions Sweden, claimed a 7-4 win.

The Scots had been the only nation to beat Canada in the round robin on their home ice in Moose Jaw, and led 5-4 in this knockout tie after the hosts blanked the ninth end.

The Olympic silver medallists took two in the last end, despite Canada having the hammer, to guarantee a world medal of at least the same colour in Sunday’s final (22:00 BST).

Team Mouat, seeking a fourth medal at world level, have already clinched an Olympic place for Great Britain for Milan-Cortina in 2026.
