Arsenal are ranked third favourite to sign Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford in the January transfer window.

Rashford has paved the way for his departure at United after he admitted on Tuesday that he is ‘ready for a new challenge’.

‘When I leave it’s going to be, “no hard feelings”. You’re not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That’s me as a person,’ Rashford told Henry Winter.

‘If I know that a situation is already bad I’m not going to make it worse. I’ve seen how other players have left in the past and I don’t want to be that person.

‘When I leave I’ll make a statement and it will be from me.’

After scoring 30 goals for United in the 2022/23 campaign, the 27-year-old struggled for form last season as he found the net just eight times in 43 games.

Rashford’s inconsistency has continued this season and it now appears that the forward, who was left out of Gareth Southgate’s squad for Euro 2024, is already planning his exit at United.

However, Rashford’s high wages, which are worth £325,000 a week, will make it difficult for United to find a buyer.

According to Betfair, Paris Saint-Germain are Rashford’s most-likely destination in the January transfer window at 7/2.

A move to the Saudi Pro League next month is priced at 6/1, while a switch to Premier League rivals Arsenal, who have been linked with Rashford in the past, has odds of 8/1.

Despite their financial difficulties in recent years, Barcelona are priced at 11/1 to sign Rashford in the upcoming transfer window, while Chelsea, who took Jadon Sancho on loan from United in the summer, are available at the same odds.

In his response to Rashford’s comments, United manager Ruben Amorim said on Wednesday: ‘This kind of club needs big talent and he’s a big talent.

‘He just needs to perform at the highest level. That is my focus. I just want to help Marcus.

‘What I want is to take the best of Marcus Rashford and the other players. I don’t talk about the future. I talk about the present.

‘I want to best of each of them. I just want to win and help the team to be better.

‘We are better with Marcus Rashford, that’s simple and we try our best to push Marcus Rashford to the level he is at before.’
