Christmas celebrations just got merrier for all NFL fans as it got a superstar upgrade. The 32-time Grammy winner Beyoncé delivered an adrenaline-charged performance during the streaming giant Netflix’s debut NFL halftime show coverage at the Baltimore Ravens vs. Houston Texans Christmas Day game. The superstar truly spread the holiday cheer at the Super Bowl halftime show in Houston by performing songs from her 2024 hit album, ‘Cowboy Carter,’ in front of a live audience. During the electrifying show, the pop star also brought Post Malone, Shaboozey, and even her daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, as special cameos.

Beyonce’s unmatched energy, powerful voice, and blazing performance were a treat to fans they won’t soon forget. The show instantly won the hearts of the crowd present as well as the viewers at home. But do you know that the Grammy winner’s performance came with a hefty paycheck? If reports are to be believed, Netflix pulled out big and paid the pop star $20 million (approximately Rs 171 crores) to perform the NFL halftime Christmas show, reported Diario AS.

Talking about the NFL Christmas halftime show, Beyonce dramatically entered the stadium on a horse’s back. Upon her grand entry, she delivered a 12+ minute show, including the live performance of songs from her latest album, Cowboy Carter. The performance kickstarted with a pre-taped moment where the singer performed 16 Carriages. It is followed by tracks like Blackbiird, Ya Ya, Spaghetti, Levii’s Jeans and Jolene.

Finally, Beyonce’s adorable daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, grabbed all the limelight as she danced on the stage holding her mother’s hand as she performed the smash hit Hold Em Texas, according to Mirror US.

Netflix’s entry into streaming live NFL games marks a new chapter in sports entertainment. The platform announced in May that it would broadcast two NFL Christmas Day games annually from 2024 through 2026. Meanwhile, the NFL show produced by Beyonce’s company, Parkwood Entertainment, and Jesse Collins Entertainment was reportedly a part of the $60 million three-project deal between the singer and Netflix that was signed in 2019. Beyonce and Netflix have worked together earlier on a 2019 concert film documentary, Homecoming: A Film by Beyonce.

For those unaware, this isn’t Beyonce’s first foray into an iconic NFL event. Previously, she headlined the 2013 Super Bowl XLVII halftime show in New Orleans, reuniting with Destiny’s Child members Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland. She returned to the Super Bowl games stage in 2016 alongside Coldplay and Bruno Mars, delivering yet another unforgettable performance.
